Jobs with Learning Talking
We are currently seeking applications from HCPC registered speech and language therapists who are available to work in mainstream primary schools in the London boroughs of Newham and Waltham Forest.
This role has come about as we have a new contract with a 6 school academy trust.
We are happy to consider applications from therapists with all levels of experience.
We have a track record of supporting NQPs through their competencies (we are proud of the 10 fabulous therapists who have been through this process with us so far). We would also welcome applications from more experienced therapists.
Therapists in the team are expected to be confident communicators, flexible and adaptable to the demands of working in busy schools and have strong organisational skills. You are also expected to be passionate about working with children and young people with SLCN and bring a high level of enthusiasm to the role.
As we are predominantly a mainstream school service, it is essential that you are available in term time.
What we offer our team
Learning Talking has an excellent staff retention rate. We understand the importance of high quality and regular support. We recognise that whilst our job is rewarding, we all have days when we face new or challenging situations and need some help. You will receive regular supervision and if you put a message out to the team, someone will always get back to you whether you are looking for clinical advice, resource suggestions or just a supportive ear.
In non COVID times we have a weekly admin day where the team can work together from a shared space. This provides face-to-face contact time for informal clinical discussion and emotional support. Whilst we are currently working from home for admin sessions, we replicate the set up with virtual team meetings and CPD events.
We value therapists who are enthusiastic, friendly, flexible and excellent team players. All our team are dedicated to developing their clinical skills and knowledge, being up-to date on the latest research and we support them to engage in CPD through both internal and external opportunities. Team members are trained in a range of approaches including PECS, Hanen, Colourful Semantics, Zones of Regulation and Shape Coding.
We offer competitive salaries and a company pension scheme. Whilst you are required to be available during term time, this is compensated by 10 weeks paid leave to be taken during the school holidays.
We provide access to a wide range of assessment and therapy resources in paper and digital format. We also provide equipment including laptops and ipads.
The closing date for this role is 30th November 2020.
Please send a covering email and CV to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like to discuss the role contact Chris on 07922665330.
Unfortunately we are not able to offer sponsorship for this role.
In addition to the role(s) above, we are always looking for great people so please do get in touch if you are a passionate and dedicated speech and language therapist who would like to discuss being part of our team.
