10% of Children have SLCN

Speech and language therapy for schools

At Learning Talking we specialise in providing a range of services to support children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) in Early Years, Primary and Secondary Schools.

We provide effective direct intervention for individuals or groups of children who require specialist support. Alongside direct therapy we believe in working collaboratively with school staff to develop their understanding of how to support those with SLCN. We enable others to support the child’s ability to communicate, access the curriculum and demonstrate progress in attainment scores.

We are experts in understanding the links between communication and behaviour. We can help you develop a whole-school approach to improving behaviour, attention and communication. We are able to provide specific training packages including ELKLAN (accredited training) and the robustly evidenced Ican Talk Boost training.

The team has many years experience building speech and language therapy services in schools from scratch, including supporting schools with Education, Health and Care Plan applications and complex individual support planning.

Our speech and language therapists are always friendly and professional and each team member accesses a comprehensive formal and informal supervision structure. We pride ourselves on excellent levels of staff retention.

We are based in north east London and cover the surrounding areas including Hertfordshire and Essex.
